DXing on Cape Cod

Just a quick note to let the operators know that I heard two new stations this evening. One was on 3904 kHz, heard around 2200 UTC, playing Dutch music. It sounded like a live program, with two DJ's.

Earlier, I heard a station on 6308.3 kHz, another Dutch station, with the Ruurlo maildrop. The station ID sounded like "Double Kilo Radio". Time heard was between 2115 and 2145 UTC. Strong signal, but the audio sounded a bit overmodulated to me.

Very pleased with my results this evening, I was DXing right next to the Atlantic Ocean, not far from where Marconi did his experiments in Wellfleet, Cape Cod.

I have audio recorded for both stations, and will try to contact you later with a proper report.

Also heard was WMR on 6400 kHz, with SIO 333.

73's & HNY,

George

Thank you Marcel for the ID. I couldn't stay any longer to listen for their ID. I have heard Blue Star before on 48 meters, but am pleased to log them on 76 meters.

Correct Station Name?

Can anyone help me with the correct station name for the station that was on 6308.2-6308.3 between 2113 to 2158 UTC on Saturday night?

It sounded either like "Double Kilo Radio, from the east side of Holland", or could it be "Zulu Kilo Radio"?

They gave the Ruurlo maildrop address, and the following number for SMS: 0031 629 135 307.

Do they have an e-mail address?

Thanks,

George

You're right!!

Hi George!! Hope you're enjoying the DX on the Cape.

Yes, the name of the station is Double Kilo R. Heard him here as well. I called him and discovered he's a MW pirate that decided to try SW for the first time!! Said was running around 900 watts. I heard him from when he signed on at 2111 past 2335 UTC on 6308.19. Oh yeah, he doesn't have e-mail, so the only way to contact him is through the postal address.

Good job!!
