Loud & clear here in London!

1730 - 1745 - Heard a few old instrumentals,an Orion Radio jingle & then your announcements & reports in Dutch & English.Is 80watts low power?Maybe to a Dutchman!!
It just goes to show,as Alfred proved before, you do,t always need a lot of power to get a good signal out.

Hello Andy and Hallo Jan,

Thanks for reporting, much appreciated.

@Andy, well 80 watt is not real low power, but indeed for most Dutch pirates I guess This is low. My car audio is only 120watt also low power. I am not sure if I have send You an QSL card Before But if You like send me your (email) address.

@Jan ook bedankt, als Je ook een QSL card wilt even een adres mailen.

Update the homepage, now more info about the test transmitter, with pictures and schematic. www.orionradio.nl/the-bet.html

Hello Rob and every boby,

Of course You are right. 80 watt is not real low power, so lest say medium power. Don't like to have a discusion everytime about low or high power, We all know for the most Dutch pirates this is low power, ther are pirates who use <30watt, but the most (dutch pirates) use 100watt or more, or are using (relay by) a legal station with >10kW. I also know about the distance some pirates made with real low power! It is not the power, but good propagation we all need! When the bet strats I was already brewing this transmitter for "On Air AM" and it was nice to get it on air for "the bet" But I will also make some low power transmitters <30 watt.
