London Calling.

Post by Andy Richards »

I listen mainly to Pirate stations on 76,52 and 48m.But I do tune across the hf bands and listen to the various Echo Charlie
bands, especially 45m and to the Freebanders and CB'ers on 27mhz as well as the Amateur HF bands,80,40 and 20m especially.
Conditions today were terrible everywhere!
At night was a different story, with some nice strong signals.
I have to say, much as I love the good old Pirates that have been around for a while,I am impressed with the quality of some of
the "Newer" Pirates I have heard too.Of course, some of these are not really "New" Pirates at all.But some are.
There were several "Good old Pirates" on this weekend doing a great job,but I think it's worth mentioning Flying Dutchman,
Tidalwave,Zeewolf,Explosion & Sluwe Vos.......all really good and adding to the quality that is already there.

Hello Andy,

Thanks for the log of Radio Zeewolf International.
Special thanks also for the nice words, much appreciated :D
I am active on MW and SW but I have to say that my interest in SW is growing and I really enjoy making these late night programs on SW and the reactions of listeners.
My MW programs are different from the SW ones. On shortwave do I try to speak more between the records. I try to do that in English as much as possible.
It is difficult because English is not my first language but I hope that my English is improving in time and I am learning each time by doing.
Ofcourse do I listen also to some "old pirates" and they are an example for me but I try not to imitated them.

Keep on listening,

Greetings,
Herman,
Radio Zeewolf Int.

Hi Herman,

No problem with your English.Much better than my Dutch!
As you have found,SW does give you a very warm welcome,so I hope to hear you more.
As for MW,I'm sure I've heard you on there too and next time I catch you I'll try to hear what you do differently on that band.
I do listen to MW a bit,it was my main band when I was still operating, but it's nearly all Dutch stations nowadays and of course on
MW they will play for their local audience.Only a few of the bigger stations look for an international audience on MW.
This is natural. But on SW,the whole of Europe and beyond is there for you!
