Hi everybody:

This weekend was a great mixture of stations for a DXer/pirate enthusiast like me. There was lots of great DX … I caught a 380 milliwatt cw beacon from Channel Z, finally logged Radio Tonair after a year of trying, logged new stations Alpenroos and Bila Hora, and heard Undercover Radio from the US on mediumwave. (The only other US pirate I have logged on mw is a Haitian community station from Boston).

As well, there were some incredibly strong signals that were a real pleasure to listen to. Borderhunter had a very good signal and his usual great show on 76 m Friday night (always a pleasure to hear BH). Crazy Wave Radio blew the speakers off Saturday night for over 8 hours with an excellent show, followed by Wolverine Radio from the US with a unique blend of music that started around the 40’s and worked up to the present. On Sunday night Undercover Radio had a massive signal early in the evening, while later Sunday night (Monday UTC), both Ronin and Captain Morgan had quite good signals with a nice mixture of tunes.

There was lots of activity from the US this weekend, and it was very nice to hear live shows from both Undercover and Renegade. Live shows are a rarity over here, which makes them particularly enjoyable.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where the CZ beacon is. It was from Channel Z Radio, but that is all I know.
