Hi everyone:
There were some very interesting conditions this past weekend. Friday started well, with a good reception of Misti Radio in the morning, but conditions in the evening were weaker (and not many stations on the air). On Saturday, the shortwave bands were almost completely dead. Radio Malaisy was the only European station heard on sw, although mediumwave stations were being received well. The poor conditions prevented me from enjoying the "big night" of Halloween shows from US stations.
On Sunday morning, I started listening at around 0800. Conditions were decent for about 15-20 minutes on 48 m, then all stations faded out. Strangely, some of the stronger stations faded back in around 1030 for a half hour. What makes this very odd is that 1030 is 1 hour after sunrise here! This promising for the upcoming winter season.
There were also successful tests by Mike Radio on 31m and Cupid and Scotland on19m on Sunday morning as well.
