interesting report
yes conditions have been up and down all day I thought things were very bad until I discovered I had an antenna failure. Built a 24 metre dipole today in about 45 minutes. It is very low not more than 7 metres above ground level.

That's why I am pleased to confirm that i was the unidentified station playing Autobahn on 6266 at he time you quoted. I would be interested to know where in Germany you were listening.

I am based in the very far west of the UK.

Danke!

hello everybody, :veryhi

Thans for all your comments, i am going to check the antenna probebly some bad connections what is the cause of my reception problem.
The noise was sunday at daytime down to S0, normal is for me S4 ~ S6

My reception location is in the centre off the north of the neterlands a small village called Veenhuizen, very known by the pirates here in the netherlands.
Check the following webside : http://www.gevangenismuseum.nl/index.html
The side is not finnished yet, the english button dosn't work, but for the dutch readers is it allready very interresting. (PS I am not the maker from this webside.)

About the mistake from Germany, it dosn't matter for me.
I was born many years after WWII and I dont care about football  :D

Op vakantie naar veenhuizen, op tijd je nat en droogje, soms beter dan bij moeders thuis, tralalalala ;)

Bedankt voor de link Jan, leuk om te zien ;)

For all English readers, the above was just a line from a famous pirate song, On vacation to Veenhuizen, on time your drink and food, sometimes it's better then at home. O well, in Dutch it sounds better.

Veenhuizen is a jail, famous in the 70s and 80s, because most pirate operators who got jail time, were send to Veenhuizen to serve time.

Thanks again Jan for the URL :)

Wow Jan mostley 1's, and i thought after long times lets go on air and play some music, but for who i was playing, formyself????

I was testing thismorning toa friend of mine who is on vacation in North Danmark.
From 09 till 12 hour local time my signal was great there all the time a 45554 so i was very happy with this test result.
Because i never had a reception repport from Danmark.

So now and then i come in your neighbourhood, i have a MFJ antenne analyser, so if you would to check your antenne it is no problem for me to drive by.
Give me a call via e-mail and we can arange something.

Greetings Johan Black-Bird.

Hello Johan,

If it is not his antenna, that's short wave. But Also Jaroslav copied your signal fair. I was also on air before You start, on 6297kHz, possible You didn't hear me because of the variable conditions? After closing down, I didn't hear you either on 6300,4 or 6300,5kHz!

Hello John, i look very often to your signal if you write it here on the forum, but till now i have received you only one time.
That was a copple off weeks ago when i was on my second location, there i have a G5RV wire antenne, and this was the first i heard you to my surprise at home i never heard you, there i have a dipole 2x11 meter.

Sunday i got some calls from Tjechie, France and Germany but signals here in Holland where bad also in Germany it was not that good as some months ago.
But that's shortwave you never know how propegation is.

But my 25 watts still go strong.....
Have already some parts for a mudulator as you wrote a copple of months ago, so this winter i hope to be with a little more power from the SK-010.

Greetings Johan.

re- reception

Post by JoJo »

Hello Johan,

Almost the same name so I almost made a type mismatch. Yes your 25 watt goo's strong. Well thats shortwave, but with some 10kw the problem will be gone.

Hope to hear you soon with the modulator.

Hello everybody, :veryhi

I have taken a closer look at my antenna but there wasn't a problem with, all the conections are ok :D so it must have been the conditions on shortwave sad::.

The reception of dutch stations close to me was always difficult, becouse of the groundwave .
The transmitting frequency, the skywave angle, the length of the skip zone and the groundwave can also affect reception conditions. If you are in the no-man's land beyond the range of the groundwave signal range and less than one skywave hop's distance from the sender site, reception will be virtually non-existen
copy from : http://www2.rnw.nl/rnw/en/features/medi ... ences.html
Last sunday I coult copy silentkey radio from the UK with 40W better then Radio Scotland who is running much more power and from a closer distance, so that is shortwave very different from mediumwave.
If you want to broadcast for local listeners use mediumwave not shortwave, for international listeners use shortwave :!: .
