Logs from Newfoundland, July 7-11

Post by newfoundland dxer »

Hi everyone:

Conditions were decent on both Friday and Saturday nights, with lots of stations on the air. Marconi and Powerliner had the best signals, it was nice to hear Doctor Einstein for the first time, and good to hear Black Power and Studio 52 again.

Sunday night, however, conditions were terrible. I listened from 2100-0100 but only logged 3 stations (and a dozen carriers). Glad this doesn't happen too often.

I heard my first Russian voice-only QSO on 3 MHz Friday morning. Interesting, but I prefer the voice/music QSO's that have been on 6305 lately. Many thanks to the QSO ops for including some English comments and IDs on Friday night.
