I saw on ukdxer's blog that Bogusman was on (for the first time in a long while), so I decided to go to my outdoor listening post and have a listen. (My wife thinks I'm crazy when I do that, but she reckons it's a good thing I have a hobby.)

2046 3078 Dinamit, Poltava QSOing. S2
2046 3078 Barmaley, Bryansk giving a report to Dinamit and handing the microphone over to a group of stations in Moscow. S3-4
0047 3078 Zvezda, Moscow with a report for Dinamit. S3
0048 3078 Rodnik, Moscow with a report for Dinamit. S2
2049 3078 Listopad, Moscow was rather weak S1-2
2050 3078 Narkom (probably Moscow) was weak as well S1-2
2050 3078 Diapazon, Moscow with a report for Dinamit. S3
2100 3078 Ventilyator, tent, unknown location, very weak, QSO with Barmaley and the group. S1
2101 3932 Bogusman with another good show. Big Dish, Trembling Bells (I like that kind of music!), The Auteurs, Glass Tiger... Interesting chat. Poem by the Ghoul. The show ended at around 2135 but was repeated one more time. S3-4
2147 3023 Kapitan, Pskov giving a report to Barkhan. S3-4
2148 3023 Ataka giving a report to Barkhan. S1-2
2148 3023 Barkhan, Lipetsk S1
2150 3023 Metelitsa, St. Petersburg giving a report to Barkhan. A bit later he said goodbye and played Yuriy Vostrov's 'To the radio hooligans of the 60s and 70s' (see below). S2-3
2151 3023 Orbita, Tambov S2-3
2157 3023 Karusel', Donetsk joining in the QSO S1
2200 3023 Dozor, Lipetsk giving a report to Karusel'. S2-3

Yuriy Vostrov's 'Посвящение Радиохулиганам – 60-70х' ('To the radio hooligans of the 60s and 70s'): http://audiopoisk.com/index.php?q=%CF%E ... 0%ED%E0%EC (recommended!)

Thanks to Alexandr for help with the hooligans! (I wouldn't have had more than one correct ID without him!)

Alexandr has provided me with lots of really interesting information about Russian/Ukrainian radio hooliganism. Certainly an interesting phenomenon! (A bit like the Dutch tradition?)

There seem to be radio hooligans in the entire ex-Soviet Union (including the tundra: http://www.udxf.nl/voices from the tundra.pdf), but there are particularly many in South-West Russia and in the Russian-speaking parts of Ukraine (I was surprised to hear so many from farther north this time).

According to Alexandr, there were probably radio hooligans very early in the radio history, but it seems that radio hooliganism (just like Dutch pirate radio) took off for real in the 1950s.

Of course, today's radio hooligans are essentially just unlicensed hams, but there were actually music stations as well at one point (a very interesting article about that: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/artic ... 20,00.html). And as you can see from my log, some of today’s radio hooligans on 3 MHz will occasionally play a song or two.
