Mainly because I find the Short Wave Pirates generally more interesting.
Having said that,I have heard a few interesting stations on Medium Wave and so I thought I would
post my logs for the year so far.
Radio Caroline is broadcasting with a short term low power licence until Monday May 2nd.
It is coming live from The Ross Revenge,but not at sea.........
They are anchored at Tilbury.
Enigma Radio broadcast very occasionaly,usually on Public Holidays,from the North Kent area and
always do interesting transmissions.
Merseyland Alternative Radio are on the air most weekends for quite long hours on 1314 & 1395Khz
from,as the name suggests,the Liverpool area.One of their presenters is Jackie Frost,who you may well
have heard on Radio Merlin before.They are on the internet too almost 24/7.
All the above are UK stations and none use much power but it says something that I could hear them all.
Especially MAR,look on a map to see how far Liverpool is from London!
The rest are all powerful Dutch stations that,to varying degrees,do more "International" programmes.
For those of you outside the UK it may be worth trying for Caroline before they close down on Monday
night,I think late afternoon to early evening might be best because after that even I lose them to an Arab
station.
You may try for MAR too,I think 1395 is the better frequency as I can hear another station on 1314 here.
