Logs from Newfoundland, Aug. 2 - 9

Hi everyone: From Tuesday to Friday I was suffering from loud electrical noise, so I was catching mostly only high powered stations (the exception was Wizard on Thursday, who was amazingly clear). On Saturday, the noise was gone, but conditions were absolutely horrible. (It was one of those weeks wh...

Re: London Calling.

they think that they will hold the listener because they want to ID the station.... The "DX'er's" will continue to tune around to hear what else is on. But if your programme is interesting, they will tune back to you.And you never know,if you are REALLY good, they may nottune away at all! I...

Logs from Newfoundland, July 28-Aug. 1

)Hi everyone: It was another enjoyable weekend of listening. Saturday night was also very interesting for propogation. Signals were not necessarily loud, but the noise floor was almost non-existant, so I was getting some details from almost every station being reported by European listeners. I even ...

Re: Logs from Newfoundland, June 20- July 5

Hi Ray:

Thanks for the info. I have never managed to hear any details from this station. And now there is a utility very close to 6990, so I can only detect the carrier most nights.

Caro: I listen so much because I enjoy what I hear

Cheers, Terry

Logs from Newfoundland, July 7-11

Hi everyone: Conditions were decent on both Friday and Saturday nights, with lots of stations on the air. Marconi and Powerliner had the best signals, it was nice to hear Doctor Einstein for the first time, and good to hear Black Power and Studio 52 again. Sunday night, however, conditions were terr...

Logs from Newfoundland, June 20- July 5

Hi everyone: Conditions have been quite good these past 2 weeks, considering that it is summer. Of course, most of my logs are 2100 or later now that sunset is so late. A very special thanks to the crew and all the announcers from Summermeeting Radio. Listening to you guys (and watching the webcam) ...

Logs from Newfoundalnd, June 16-20

Hi everyone: Not a bad weekend, considering the late sunsets. The best news is that after this weekend, darkness will start to come earlier. :) Saturday was the best night. There were many stations on late and, for a change, the majority were not from Holland! Good to hear Relmus back on sw ... and ...

Logs from Newfoundland, June 10-13

Hi everyone: Strange conditions this weekend. Friday was horrible ... only the strongest stations were audible. Saturday started very well, with signals starting to fade in early on 48 m and an incredibly loud test on 11428 kHz by Channel Z from the US. Unfortunately, 48 m did not continue to improv...

Logs from Newfoundland, June 3-5

Hi everyone: It has been a few months since I posted logs. I have been listening every weekend, but have had no time to review audio files or compile logs. (Some family issues have been taking a lot of my time, but things are finally improving and I hope to return to regular posting soon.) Thanks to...

Re: SW Radio Martha? Mossa? Mother? Moca? ???

I have heard Malta the past 4 nights here. Last night I had an opportunity to compare the signals of Malta and Irish Music Radio on 6930. Props were very different ... as one station would fade in, the other would fade out ... back and forth. Assuming IMR is from the Britch Isles, I am pretty sure t...
